Mystery Stole & Misc Stuff     3 August, 2007, 08:20 pm
How's that for a title?

Here's clue 4. I knit for 2 and a half hours last night to finish before clue 5 came out. The cat hardly missed me :)

It was an exciting week. I booked another vacation, that's two in like 6 months. I feel very spoiled. Especially since I also bought a car a month and a half ago. Aiee..

I also released a program for testing today. My biggest so far. There are issues but the big picture looks pretty good. Besides, it's only testing.

I'm debating whether to add the "wing" to the mystery stole or go symmetrical. Probably the wing.. But there's junk on tv tonight so I'm gonna catch one of the Netflix movies waiting to be watched and, no stole knitting.

Can you believe it's August already? It wasn't a good goal month. I hardly saved any money, I skipped exercising a number of times when I was kinda tired, and I hardly did any knitting, it seems.

Clue 3     18 July, 2007, 10:34 pm
Finished, maybe.. There's a mistake, I couldn't find it at the time so I kept going. I think I found it, I'm still deciding if I want to rip.. So I left an extra lifeline or two.

Clue 2     11 July, 2007, 10:16 pm
Woohoo! Finished, but not before ripping again. There was another close one tonight while I was watching So You Think You Can Dance (not a good idea, btw, chart knitting and a show based on dancing) but I recovered well with only a little tinking. So here she is..

Um, no other knitting, 'cause this is kinda time consuming. Now to catch up on the email this mystery is generating, holy batman.

Ohno.. I started clue 2 after much anticipation. But I got to the end of row 101 and had too many stitches left. I tinked back but oops, only 96 stitches. I went back and picked up the other 3 and redid the row correctly. Only to get to row 102 and not have enough stitches at the end of the row. I tried to tink but lost some things. Erf! I pulled if off the needles. Thankfully I forced myself to put in a lifeline between the clues. I'm off to knit with the girls and hopefully when I get back I can put the stole back on the needles. I am tempted to turn up the AC as the yarn/needles are getting a little too sticky for my taste.

It is to be very warm this weekend so there will be much time to stay inside and knit. I was pleasantly surprised to find tiny broccoli, cauliflower, and purple onions in my garden when I was weeding last night. Oh my gosh. What a feeling! Sorry, this is nerdy-ness and it's not even about knitting, but, wow. It makes me want a massive garden. Between that and not being allowed to have a dog, I so want a house. Um, needless to say it hasn't really affected how I spend money on yarn I can't possibly use up within the next year, maybe two, or three. Constant battle.. ahem.

Clue 1 - Mystery Stole 3     5 July, 2007, 09:15 pm
Finished, yay.

That is Lacey Lamb in color 407 - teal. It is solid colored. I didn't have pins so I spritzed my pile of string and some parts got hit better than others. I dunno where my pins are. If I had to guess, I'd say they're at my parents' place. And my fleece clearly needs a trip through the washer. The stole is about 11 inches wide as is.

Stole     4 July, 2007, 11:57 pm
Yay! I started the Mystery Stole 3 with Lacey Lamb in the teal color. It's a fun knit but the yarn is pretty tiny so I think it might be a scarf. My next thought was to start another in a heavier laceweight, but then I realized that Melanie has a number of stole patterns, and I've only knit one of them. So I promptly ordered the Hanami pattern and next stop is Knit Picks for their Bare laceweight.

Other stuff I want to knit but haven't gotten to - a summery sweater, a baby sweater (I bought a new pattern, top down seamless stuff), CIC socks.. and on and on. I have a couple shawl patterns I want to try but I need to finish the Leaf Lace monkey on my back. Ahem. It's a really nice knit but.. yeah. One of these days I will a) get the guts to knit in front of the cat or b) start locking myself in the bedroom on weekends to knit without his help. I was actually able to do that today for an hour and a half before his meowing and pounding started.

Here are the preemie hats and single newborn hat I mailed off last week or something. The time really flies these days and my memory sucks so between the two...

Oo, and a happy 4th to y'all! Tomorrow it is back to work. It is going to be quiet..

Telemarketers     28 June, 2007, 07:56 pm
Agh! Ever since I applied for financing through Capital One, uh, I've been getting a call every day from someone (a different someone each night) who can't speak English (none of the 4 that have called so far). Apparently they represent Chase Bank. Tonight I decided to handle it, so when I said "Please take me off your list." I heard, "Ok, I will call you another time." Er, no? I thought telemarketers were bad. Foreign telemarketers have to be the mother of all evil.

Oh yeah.. knitting blog. Heeh. I made 12 preemie hats and a newborn hat and they were so cute, but they are gone now. I do have a picture somewhere.

Other than that.. I went on vacation a week ago and knit on my shawl for the first time in months. I think I got a bit over one repeat completed. I miss working on it, but I'm still afraid to bring it out around the cat. Gotta get over that..

'cause yesterday I found out there's another mystery stole! Yay! I wanna make a bunch of things at the moment so I'm going to wait for pictures of the first clue to decide if I want to make it. If I do I have another issue, no yarn. I dunno. My LYS got this scrumptious Lacy Lamb stuff but it's kinda pricy.

Hi! I live with my cat and a crabby parrotlet. Once in awhile I try to crochet but I find knitting much easier.
