Still Here!     13 September, 2006, 08:05 pm
So I moved and got a new furry friend and we're settling in. I was expecting more knitting time but it's hard with a 17 lb furball in your lap. He is getting over a bug and giving me lessons in how to pill tricky kitties. Oh, he doesn't nearly fit into the Kitty Pi I made.

I'm working on the sleeve of the baby sweater. I think it'll be finished tonight. I really dig this pattern. Next one will be with a collar instead of a hood.

The mystery stole is waiting on the edging of the second side. So close. But kitty likes yarn and I'm afraid to bring anything other than acrylic out. The acrylic holds up to chewing pretty well.

Pictures next time, hopefully.

Kitty Pi's Finished     26 August, 2006, 09:34 am
I actually had the camera out for pictures but it won't focus on anything..

I finished clue 5 on one side of the stole and switched to the other. The end is in sight! I definitely want to start clue 6 this weekend.

The boxes are here, waiting for me to fill them. Work is going well. We went go-karting this week, that was a trip.

I'm Here!     18 August, 2006, 05:46 pm
Yessirree. I started a cat bed out of some wool leftovers. I tried to make it gender-neutral since I don't have a furry friend in mind yet. I'm using the Kitty Pi pattern and I think I just finished the flat bottom part.

I finished clue four of the mystery stole. I plan (*wink*) to finish clue five this weekend and clue six by next weekend but uh, them's pretty ambitious plans.

I'm to the armpits on baby sweater and need to move some parts to stitch holders in the next row so it's stalled. You know how hard it is to find a spare piece of yarn and thread it onto a needle..

In other news, I got my first "real" paycheck with accrued vacation and everything. I've signed the lease and started furniture shopping. I guess I need to start packing one of these days.

Oh, and Smiley's Yarns has Lion Brand's Cotton-Ease for $1.99! Go buy it all before I get to my plastic, please?

Blueberry Waffle Socks     6 August, 2006, 10:08 am

Yeah, that's finally a finished object! Blueberry Waffle socks in Supersock from Tess' Designer Yarns. I dunno the color, they're not labeled.

This stuff's going in the mail today. The stockings are filled at Christmas time and given to kids stuck in the hospital. I assume the booties go to needy babies. The squares, that's what 98 six inch granny squares look like, btw, will be put together and given to a variety of people and places - domestic violence shelters, nursing homes, cancer patients, homeless shelters..

Mm, more stash. Some of it has been sitting here almost a month, methinks. The top row is Knit Picks Essential and two skeins of Opal. The next two are Supersocks (yum!) in Blue Razz and Rainforest. They are quite a bit lighter than the picture shows. Size 1 & 0 Knit Picks Classic circs on the bottom. I guess that means I could actually have three pairs of socks on the needles at once. I think I need to avoid that at all costs..

I finished clue 3 on the first side and am hoping to finish clue 3 for the second side today. I know, that's a little hefty for me. I started a baby sweater last night while watching Benchwarmers. I liked it, but be warned - it's that stupid comedy with the story line as almost a by-product or side-effect.

This week I sign papers for the apartment. oOo.

Hello Job!     29 July, 2006, 09:49 am
I'm not an intern anymore! Woo-ha! I was hired on as a real employee with a real salary and real benefits - starting Monday :D Not much knitting as I've been looking for an apartment n stuff. I think I found the one, but still waiting to hear when we'll sign papers. I think we're going furniture shopping today..

I justed started clue 3 of the mystery stole and clue 4 just came out. Maybe I'll get somewhere this weekend.

I finished clue 2 on one side and I'm about half way through on the other side. Hoping to start clue 3 tomorrow.

Some exciting stuff goin' on at work but as usual, I hate to say much before it's official. I know, this is stupid, but I don't want to jinx it or anything :)

A Picture After All     16 July, 2006, 01:15 pm

This is clue 1. In short order I'll put some lifelines in and move to clue 2. Too bad there's not much on tv. Yesterday we hit 103 degrees here, not seen very often in Wisconsin. I was curious what the records were. Anywho, I feel so fortunate to be in an air-conditioned home this weekend. I dunno how y'all do it..

Hi! I live with my cat and a crabby parrotlet. Once in awhile I try to crochet but I find knitting much easier.
