Some Socks     18 July, 2011, 00:27 am I have actually knit some things other than socks. I have 3 baby blankets finished as well as a scarf but no pictures. Sorry for the blurry pics below. I have a new camera and I'm still learning to use it. So these are socks for Akkol - These socks are for me. To be honest, some of the socks above were as well but it seems I've turned into a tighter knitter recently. Now instead of 64 stitches for a sock, I need 80. So the too-small socks will be moving to Akkol, which is a great purpose for them! ( )

Update     24 July, 2010, 05:42 pm Here are some socks - These are for Mittens for Akkol. I have a couple more pairs hanging around to wash and photograph and measure and all that but I'm a little behind. ( )

An Update     26 March, 2010, 02:33 am Sorry it's been a few months. I just never seem to get around to taking pictures. So I loaded up the socks and here we go.. I can't get the name of this stuff right. It's Maine Bear SOX maybe? I intended these to be for me but must have knit up quite tightly because they're tight on me. They will probably go to Mittens for Akkol. Yummy yarn, must try that one again. This is Cherry Tree Hill, supersock I think, in Spanish Moss. Yummy.. This is Knit Picks Essential. I finally got around to working up the falling leaves pattern. This is Schaefer Anne, which is also quite yummy.. This is Trekking XXL in some sort of funky colorway. Dunno why I bought that one but they'll be okay. Couple batches of socks for the Kaz orphanages. ( )

Monthly Update     25 December, 2009, 04:35 pm I have some more socks here, pairs 94 through 99. I closed the toes on pair 100 this morning and I'm on the toe decreases for pair 101. They'll probably get closed this morning also but then I have to cast on a new pair. Anyway, here we go. I got a headstart on the Akkol sock challenge and knit up a few pairs. My goal this year is to wash them as I finish them and label sizes and put them away. Unfortunately the database isn't up yet so I can't do that yet. This yarn is delicious! I can see myself getting more of this in the future. It seems like forever since I bought yummy sock yarn. I think I bought one skein in the last six months, since I bought my house really. But the unintended yarn diet is for a very worth cause :) Oops, side tracked. This is Lace Wing and the color is Field of Dreams. It's superwash merino and I think I knit it up quite tightly, in the neighborhood of 10 inches per stitch. This is Opal in the Flamingo color. I'm not sure how I acquired this as I don't usually go for pink, but what the heck. ( )

Monthly Update     23 November, 2009, 02:50 am You guessed it! More socks. All for me, yum. These are Opal Chameleon. I ended up with a great fit on these. These are Wildfoote Columbine. That was my first experience with Wildfoote. I definitely like it. Will use again. And reasonably priced too. These are Interlacements Tiny Toes. Now I said in the past that they don't feel good on my feet, but they feel much better after a wash job. These, however, are marked the same dye lot and the socks from two different balls have a slightly different coloring to them. That kinda bugs me. Not enough to do anything about it, but when you pay for premium yarn you expect the best quality, you know? ( )

Smore Socks     19 September, 2009, 10:23 pm These are the last of this year's bunch for Akkol. Now onto the yucky part - washing, drying, and tagging. ( )

Monthly Update     12 September, 2009, 08:51 pm Here are some more socks for Akkol - I have two more pair knit up that I haven't photographed yet. Then I think we are done for the year. How's that for 500+ pair for a small group of motivated people? Woohoo! I think I will take a break but I'll probably start up again before the sock challenge is officially open. So now I just need to wash those socks and find some kind of card for them. I think post cards are recommend but I believe I have 34 pair here and that could get a little pricy so we'll see. Maybe I can do some post cards and some holiday cards. Tomorrow I'm bringing home a new little furball. I think my knitting time will be affected. Bummer.. :) ( )
